Qian Yong
China
The Chinese pianist Qian Yong appears as soloist and chamber musician in Europe, North America and China. She is laureate of many compe- titions, including Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Competition (Germany), Xinghai National Competition (China), KAWAI National Competition (China) and Brahms International Competition (Austria).
Qian began her piano studies at age six. Her former musical education includes Central Conservatory in China and the Colburn School Conservatory of Music in the United States, with Professor Hui Zhong and John Perry. Since 2013, Qian moved to Berlin to continue her musical education at the University of Arts Berlin as a student of prof. Björn Lehmann (piano) and prof. Mitzi Meyerson (pianoforte).
During her studies, Qian has performed in master classes for renowned artists such as Menahem Pressler, Klaus Hellwig, Richard Goode, Anton Kuerti and Jerome Lowenthal. As an active musician, she has performed in concert halls like Konzerthaus Berlin, Laeizshalle Hamburg, Hebei Art Center (China) and Zipper Hall (Los Angeles). Her performance has been broadcasted on the Radio Program “Sundays Live” (Los Angeles) and TV Program “I Love Piano” (Hebei, China).
Qian has been the scholarship holder of the Central Conservatory in China and of the German foundations „ad infinitum Stiftung”, „Paul Hindemith Gesellschaft“ and „Gisela und Erich Andreas Stiftung“. She is currently pursuing her Konzertexamen degree at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre under the guidance of prof. Ralf Nattkemper.
