The young pianist Rick-Henry Ginkel is performing constantly as a soloist and as a chamber music player.

He has been on stage e.g. in the “Saarländischer Rundfunk”, in Palais Khevenhüller in Vienna, in the Concert Hall Bayreuth (as soloist and in duo together with the clarinet player Sebastian Manz) and at the music festival of Kotka in Finland.

Besides his purely musical activities he has a contract with the “Saarländisches Staatstheater” for the production “Amadeus” (Director - Michael Schachermaier). For that piece, he is engaged as a pianist.

Rick-Henry Ginkel is leading his group “Cosmopolitan Sextet”, is working on own compositions with them (Classical, Jazz, World, Folk) and is under contract with the swiss label Unit Records. Rick-Henry reached the semi-final in the Boris Pergamenschikow Competition in Berlin, together with his piano- trio.

He won 1st prize of the Lions- Musikpreis (Multi- Distrikt Mitte- Süd) and was decorated as the best pianist of the Rotary Summercourse. In the last few years he got several scholarships. He is scholar e.g. of the Richard Wagner Verband, of the Bruno und Elisabeth Meindl Stif- tung, of the Villa Lessing Stiftung and of the Verein Live Music Now. As a “Deutschlandstipendiat” he was allowed to study at the Sibelius Academy of Music in Helsinki in the piano class of prof. Tawaststjerna. Then he was selected to study as a guest student at the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien, in the piano class of prof. Jiracek von Arnim.

For now, Rick-Henry Ginkel is studying Master of Music with prof. Merscher at the Hochschule für Musik Saar. Rick-Henry took masterclasses with e.g. Herbert Schuch, prof. Michel Dalberto, prof. Benedetto Lupo, prof. Antti Siirala, prof. Grigory Gruzmann, prof. Jeremy Young, prof. Wolfram Schmitt-Leonardy and prof. Ewa Kupiec.
