Yong-Gi Woo
South Korea
Born in 1994, South Korea, He began to play the piano at the age of 6. He played his first piano recital at Kumho Art Hall, Seoul at the age of 14 and accepted to study at Seoul Arts high school with prof. Soo Jung Shin and Ki-Jung Han. From 2014 to 2019, he has gained his bachelor’s degree at Seoul National University at the studio of prof. Aviram Reichert. Now he currently studies with prof. Evgeni Bozhanov at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Germany.
He won international competitions including 2nd prize in the 13th Seoul International Music Competition, 1st prize Hong-Kong Asia Open Competition and Japan Ishikawa Music Festival Competition and he also won numerous awards in Korea.
Mr. Woo has performed with the Korean Symphony Orchestra, KBS Symphony Orchestra, Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra. He had Masterclasses with many pianists including Dame Fanny Waterman, Piotr Paleczny, Hiroko Nakamura, Tatiana Zelikman, Michel Dalberto, Michel Beroff, Hae-Sun Paik amongst others.
